The person behind
the queries.

I’m Brian, a Computer Science student at BINUS University specializing in Database Technology. I’m interested in how messy information can become clear, useful answers through careful analysis.

I enjoy working with others to break down complex problems, share ideas, and turn findings into something clear and useful. Through team projects and research, I’m continuing to build both my technical skills and the way I communicate my work.

WHAT I WORK WITH

From raw data
to clear insights.

I’m building my skills across analysis, visualization, and data engineering while also exploring web development.

/01

Data analysis

Cleaning and exploring datasets to find patterns and answer specific questions.

/02

Data visualization

Building charts and dashboards that make findings easier to understand.

/03

Data engineering

Preparing and transforming data so it can be used reliably for analysis.

Measuring Feature Contribution Inequality in Fraud Detection

This study compares Random Forest and XGBoost on an imbalanced credit card fraud dataset, using Gini and entropy to measure how feature importance is distributed.

Key finding: SMOTE improved recall and ROC-AUC for both models, but increased feature contribution inequality in Random Forest while reducing it in XGBoost.

Role: First author and submitting author. Status: Paper #491 accepted and presented at ICORIS 2026; awaiting proceedings publication.

NYC Yellow Taxi Analytics & Fare Prediction

Analyzed over 47 million NYC Yellow Taxi trip records using Apache Spark to explore hourly demand, traffic conditions, and revenue patterns. The project also used Gradient Boosted Trees to predict taxi fares from trip data.

My contribution: Helped preprocess the trip data and identify insights from the analysis.

Data Analysis / Python & Team Tableau Dashboard

Video Game Sales Analysis & Dashboard

Cleaned and explored video game sales data using Python to examine missing values, outliers, and sales patterns across genres, platforms, and regions. A team Tableau dashboard presents additional comparisons, while the Python analysis highlights how genre preferences differ between global and Japanese sales.

My contribution: Led the exploratory data analysis and created the visualizations, including the Tableau dashboard. The written report was a team effort.

Heart Disease Data Pipeline

Built an ETL pipeline in Pentaho Data Integration to clean, transform, and organize BRFSS 2022 heart disease data. The output was structured into one fact table and five dimension tables for further analysis.
